Canada Millenium Scholarship FoundationThis was done while attending design school. It was the first place entry for the Design Exchange Connect National Student Competitions. The call for entries was to design an award certificate for the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation. We met every single one of the requirements outlined in the brief, but still managed to put our own perspective into it. In the brief one of the issues they wanted addressed was the community, they wanted to encourage recipients to get involved within their own communities. For this we also designed a booklet that explained our thoughts in detail, everything from the format to the type to the image. The short version is; we wanted the certificate to look like a piece of art when displayed on a wall, while still being recognizable as an award. As per the contest rules we had to give our concept a name, and explain the concept in less than 50 words, here is our submission: Title: Synthesis Each light streak represents an individual student, the objective is to illustrate to recipients how their work impacts the world around them; according to the following flow chart: STUDENTS > CLASSES/PROGRAMS > SCHOOLS > COMMUNITY > COUNTRY > WORLD |
